By RNW Reporter Hayden Jennings
When police routinely pulled a vehicle over in East Rome Sunday Evening, they found found three other crimes in the process.
According to PFC Chase Burns and PFC Matt Fowler of the Rome Police Dept., they pulled a red GMC Suburban over around 7:20 PM on E. 12th St. at the railroad tracks. The vehicle had an improper drive-out tag. When the two checked further, they found found the vehicle had no insurance and that the vehicle would have to be towed.
When police searched the vehicle while doing an inventory for the wrecker company, they found a quantity of both Crack Cocaine and Ecstasy Pills.
While all three men were briefly detained for investigation, only one was arrested and charged for the narcotics and another was released on a citation for no insurance.
Police also charged the suspect in custody with theft after they found a wallet on him that belonged to someone else. Police contacted the owner who said that that when he went to look for his wallet after being contacted, discovered it was missing.
