Weather To Blame for Downed Trees, Power Lines
By RNW Reporter Hayden Jennings
A small storm led to downed trees and power lines throughout Southern Floyd County Thursday Afternoon.
The storm which for the most part stalled over the Cave Spring, Lindale, and Coosa areas, gave Floyd County much needed rain beginning around 4:00 PM.
The weather left Rome Fire Engine 2 and Quint 3 scrambling to call after call of downed trees and power lines. Locations of downed trees included Cave Spring Rd. and Busbee Ln.
The storm also brought frequent lightning to the area, though the only reported damage came when a transformer was struck on Booze Mountain Rd.
As of 6:15 PM, the storm had died out over West Rome though another small storm was forming over Cave Spring and heading Eastward.
