Long time Floyd Superior Court Judge Does Not Seek Additional Term
Long time Superior Court Judge Larry Salmon has decided not to seek an additional term as a Floyd County Superior Court Judge.
Jason A. Lewis, Jack Niedrach, and Kevin Salmon have qualified for the seat.
In other court news, Judge J. Bryant Durham did qualify for a new term and is not opposed for the November 4th election. Judge Durham told RomeNewswire that he “appreciates the confidence the voters have in him and that he is fortunate to be able to serve another term.”

Notions of fairness, impartiality, and the court’s ability to issue fair, prompt, and correct rulings are at the very core of any party’s concerns over their appearance in court. It is my firm belief that my experience as an ADA here in Rome has prepared me to ensure these things and to make a fair and prompt disposition of issues so that cases may be fully and finally resolved.
Prosecutors are the only group of attorneys required to observe and protect the rights of his adversary while being an advocate for their case. In fulfilling my obligations as an ADA I have not only been an advocate for each case that I have tried, I have also been required to review the merits of hundreds of cases even before the trial stage. Being involved in this process as I currently am is a proving ground, and I have proven my abilities in the courtroom as a trusted, fair and reliable evaluator of what is before me. I look forward to using my experience to see that the fairness and impartiality of our courts are matters that remain protected.
I am pleased to announce my candidacy for Judge of the Superior Court of Floyd County.
