Suspect Arrested In Adairsville Shooting

Calhoun Police were able to apprehend a suspect wanted for shooting a victim in an Armed Robbery Monday Afternoon.
The shooting occurred late Sunday afternoon in Adairsville. According to sources, the shooting appeared to be an armed robbery gone wrong. The vicitim was shot twice in the chest with an AK-47 Assault Rifle before the suspect fled accompanied by a female.
The manhunt spread into Floyd County when they found that the suspect vehicle was registered to a Shannon address. A short time later, Adairsville Polceidentified the suspect as Demarco Antonio Tair, 26, of an Adairsville address.
Calhoun Police were tipped off later in the evening that the suspect was at Briarpatch Apartments in Calhoun and armed with the Rifle and a handgun. Officers with the Gordon County Special Response Team and Sheriff’s Office responded and were able to take the suspect into custody peacefully.
The condition of the victim is unknown at this time.
