2nd Avenue Widening Shoved Back Four Years

Plans for the widening of 2nd Avenue from W. 3rd Street out to Turner McCall have apparently been shoved all the way back to 2012.

City manager John Bennett says the DOT slowdown won’t impact plans for a new cut through the levee which is being funded by a SPLOST.

The levee cut will be flush with W. 5th Street and engineering plans for that work are presently in progress.
