Two Arrested For Meth In Separate Incidents

A Tennessee woman was arrested Wednesday afternoon and charged with possession of methamphetamines after a traffic stop on Highway 53. Rome police made the initial stop on a speeding charge, then discovered a couple of pipes with methamphetamine residue in the vehicle.

30 year old Shawna Nannette Green of Rockwood Tennessee was also cited for cruelty to children.

In a separate incident, 54 year old Benjamin Larry Griffin of a Wimpee Street address in Rome was arrested for possession of crack cocaine Wednesday morning.

Officers observed the man parked in a vehicle on a sidewalk. When they approached him, Griffin told them his license had expired. After checking, officers discovered it had actually been suspended.

Officers also recovered a pipe with crack residue in it from the suspect.
