Health Care Issues Draws Crowd to Highlands
One of the biggest problems facing health care for Georgians is a serious shortage of physicians.
Sharon Cooper, head of the House Health and Human Service committee told Romans Tuesday night that Medicaid reimbursement was also increased by approximately 10% this year although more than 70% of physicians in Georgia are not taking new Medicare or Medicaid patients.
Some 50 Romans asked question ranging from the impact of illegal immigration to trauma care and Medicaid during the town hall meeting hosted by State Rep. Katie Dempsey.
