Family, Friends Refuse To Let Storm Dampen Fundraiser

Family and friends of local Floyd County Police PFC Marcus Roberts came together to raise money so that they may spesk with him as he serves in Iraq.
PFC Roberts was deployed in December with the National Guard to Iraq, leaving his position as the School Resource Officer at Pepperell High School.
Beginning at 1:00 PM today, around 3o people gathered at the Floyd County Wildlife Club for a fishing tournament. Though a strong storm moved through Coosa around 1:15 PM, the fishermen temporarily moved inside until it was past. Marcus’ Mother was presented with a large peace lily while his children’s mother was presented with a framed collage of family photos.
