County Commissioners Not Happy With .85 mill Increase In Tax Levy

Floyd County commissioners want county manager Kevin Poe to sharpen his pencil. Commissioners were not happy with a proposed .85 mill increase in the tax levy. The commission will hold a called meeting July 29th to act on the tax rate.

In other commission business, the commission approved bids for the demolition of the old Correctional Institute building on Blacks Bluff Rd., and gave the green light to airport consultants who will examine the possibility to expand the Richard Russell Airport property.
