Good News From Mt. Vernon Mills
The denim plant at Mt. Vernon Mills in Trion is experiencing a bit of a turnaround, thanks in part to the recent Farm bill. It allows farmers to get an increase in price for the cotton, while providing some help for mills at the same time.
Vice President for Manufacturing Don Henderson says that orders have picked up from several companies including Lee , Wrangler and Carhartt. Hensderson says the high cost of transportation from China, combined with the length of time for shipments to get stateside is also having a positive impact on orders at Mt. Vernon.
