One Of America’s Most Wanted Captured In Bartow

A man accused of robbing a Wachovia bank branch in Anniston Al. July 16th, then carjacking a couple of women at gunpoint was arrested Saturday night or Sunday morning at a home on the Cassville Highway in Cartersville.

21 year old Gabriel Rice and an accomplice are accused of forcing an employee into the safe at gunpoint where they loaded a pillow case with cash. Their getaway vehicle was found about a mile away from the bank where they apparently carjacked two women and forced them to drive to Gadsden, where the women were let go near a cemetery.

Sources say that authorities got a tip that Rice would be at a home in Bartow County Saturday night and when he arrived, deputies along with US Marshal’s and FBI personnel were waiting on him. Rice had recently been featured on the America’s Most Wanted television show.
