One Vehicle Accident Sends One To Hospital

A female driver has been hospitalized after being ejected in a roll-over crash on GA Loop 1 near Turner Chapel Rd.
The accident occurred around 4:00 PM when the black Ford Expedition carrying the driver and 4 small children left the road going westbound on the loop. According to witnesses, the SUV then hit a culvert and rolled, ejecting the driver into the woods.
The driver was transported by Floyd EMS in critical condition, while all three kids were able to walk away from the accident.
Officers from both the Rome PD and County PD were on the scene after the exact location and jurisdiction of the scene were first disputed. The wreck was actually a quarter mile past the city limits, and the county police are still investigating.
The wreck tied up one westbound lane of Loop 1 for around 30 minutes.
