Kevin Salmon Withdraws From Superior Court Race
Kevin Salmon has withdrawn from the Superior Court Race.
In a release, he says: Today I announce my withdrawal from the race for Judge of the Superior Court of Floyd County. When I entered the race, I had hoped to balance my ongoing responsibilities to my family, as an Assistant District Attorney, and as a candidate for public office. I have been unable to achieve that balance, which does not leave me with the necessary time and energy to devote to my pursuit of this office. In the past few weeks I have begun to feel that I have been unable to meet the standards I set for myself because of the time demands of the campaign. It is after much personal reflection and discussion with my family that I have made my decision to withdraw.
To all of those who have supported me, I owe a debt of gratitude that can not be repaid; thank you. I wish to thank my parents for their understanding and example. Most importantly, I wish to thank my wife and son who have managed to maintain their love and support for me during these days of serious consideration of this decision.
Two men remain in this race to succeed my father and serve our community as Judge. Both Jack Niedrach and Jason Lewis are fine men and good lawyers. I am sure Floyd County will be well-served by whomever is elected, and I wish them both luck through the remainder of the campaign.
