Police Nab U-Haul Bank Bandit
The metro Atlanta man who held up the Citizens First Bank branch on Shorter Avenue one week ago has been arrested in Atlanta and is being held in the Fulton County jail.
Shawn D. Colson from Decatur was busted by the Southeastern Fugitive Squad Tuesday afternoon at a motel in downtown Atlanta. A spokesman for the police says that they did not recover any weapons or cash from Colson. Authorities have not disclosed how much money was taken during the robbery last Wednesday morning.
Colson entered the bank a little after 11, showed the handle of a handgun to the clerk and demanded bills in large denominations. He raced out of the bank to a U-haul truck driven by a black male.
That vehicle was recovered in front of a dormitory at Berry College about 2 ½ hours later. The manhunt for the unidentified black male driver is still underway.
