Bistro 239 Under New Ownership

The close of business Friday night will also be the close of Todd Woodlee and Anna Filippo’s ownership
and management of Bistro 239 restaurant. Lance Lombard will assume ownership and reopen the restaurant on
Monday, August 18 as Bistro 239: On and Off Broad.

Todd and Anna purchased 239 Broad Street property in February of 2007 and opened the restaurant two months
later with the goal of offering a relaxed fine dining experience while supporting the community, particularly the
arts. “We hope that over the last year and a half, we have accomplished that goal,” reflect Todd and Anna in a
customer letter, “but of course, like all worthwhile accomplishments, it can be difficult when the end of a phase
draws near.” Todd and Anna stated in a letter to the customers “will be leaving Rome to live closer to family.”

ance Lombard joined Bistro 239 as Executive Chef in November of 2007, and has been working as both
Executive Chef and General Manager of the Bistro since January. He anticipates building on the success of the
restaurant, expanding the wine dinner series, and introducing new concepts such as a kids cooking academy,
passport dinner series, and adult cooking class, as well as pursuing greater catering opportunities and
partnerships with area businesses. “The restaurant will be more available for private buy out”, Lance says, “so I
encourage calling ahead for special dinner dates or dining needs.”

Hours will change slightly. Lunch will be served Tuesday through Friday 11-2, and dinner will be served Monday -
Friday. House band, Pollard Greens, will play still weekly with an expanded bar menu available and all night
happy hour, although the night is still being decided.

“It was either let a great restaurant close down or step up and try to rescue it for the community, and this is what
has led me to move into ownership. We have a great foundation of guest and staff and I plan on continue in much
the same manner as we have been. I think there is great opportunity for prosperity here and I think Rome has
graciously accepted us and will continue to do so,” Lance says.
