Region 1 EMS Council Rules To Leave EMS Zones With FMC

The Region 1 EMS Council ruled Wednesday that the EMS zones in Floyd County should remain the same, keeping the Garden Lakes and Coosa EMS zones under the control of Floyd Medical Center.

Redmond Regional Medical Center had initially asked for the Coosa, West Rome and Garden Lakes zones when questions surfaced about Floyd’s ability to maintain the zones.

Redmond later withdrew that request and the Transportation Committee of the Region 1 Council agreed to keep the zones the same at their June meeting. That recommendation was passed on to the full Region 1 council who voted Wednesday.
