City Receives 20k Grant For Tree Master Plan

The City of Rome has received a 20,000 grant from the Georgia Forestry Commission to help pave the way for a tree master plan for the area.
City of Rome municipal arborist Terry Paige said the plan will help both City officials, residents and contractors by laying out the master plan and allowing the trees to be better managed.
Rome Mayor Wright Bagby signed the grant in a ceremony Friday morning in the City Commission chambers.
Rome was one of 30 cities across the state to receive a portion of the grant money.
The city of Rome will match the 20 thousand dollar grant with either in kind contributions or a monetary match.
