Winner of Gary Tillman 5k Clocktower Classic Sets Course Record; Record Number Of Runners Participate

A record crowd turned out for the annual Gary Tillman Clocktower 5k road race.
Over 600 runners made their way across the 2nd Avenue bridge, down Broad Street toward Myrtle Hill and back toward downtown over the old railroad footbridge to the finish line.
The overall winner, Peter Limo from Shorter College (Photo at left) won with a time of 15 minutes, 38 seconds. According to race organizers, this is likely a course record.
Proceeds from the race will benefit the Exchange Club Family Resource Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse. According to race organizers, around 16,000 was raised.
