Man Fights With Police After Suspected Drug Deal
Rome police responded to a call of an officer needing assistance Wednesday afternoon after an officer spotted a suspected drug deal.
Rome police officer Lee Bowdon said he saw Alfred Henderson of Rome complete what appeared to be a drug transaction and approached Henderson.
Officer Bowdon began to search Henderson when the suspect began to fight with him and try to reach into his pocket.
A call went out for assistance and police, along with Sheriff’s deputies converged on the area.
Henderson was pepper sprayed and taken into custody.
Charges are pending against Henderson and he was taken to the Floyd County jail.
