30 Attend Town Hall Meeting
State Rep. Lynn Smith of Newnan called the legislation creating Georgia’s first statewide water plan “The most kneaded piece of dough I’ve ever seen. I’m surprised it would rise” she said.
Smith, who is chair of the House Natural Resource and Environment committee was a guest of State Rep. Katie Dempsey at a town hall meeting attended by 30 citizens at the Library in Rome Thursday night.
The growth factor in metro Atlanta will continue to be a huge factor.
Georgia EPD official Becky Champion also fielded questions from the crowd, many of them regarding interbasin transfers of water, which she said have impacted the Coosa Valley for at least 44 years.
