GA kids Welfare Not Getting Any Better
The 2008 Georgia Kids Count data Book shows that Georgia is not making progress in it’s effort to improve the life for it’s children.
Alan Essig, director of the Ga Budget and Policy Institute told participants at a seminar in Rome this morning that the state has to get it’s priorities together, and in times of budget woes, that a tax increase is something that needs to be considered. He’s calling on the Governor to call a special session of the legislature.
Child advocates from Catoosa, Chattooga, Bartow, Polk, Floyd, Paulding and Haralson counties listened as the numbers from the latest trends in the well being of Georgia’s children were rolled out.
