Forestry Supervisor Killed
NW Georgia Forestry Commission District Supervisor Lee Kelly was killed in a motorcycle accident last night on US 27 just north of Trion.
Kelly, who had been supervisor in the Rome office since August of 2006, was northbound on US 27 just after 5:00 last night when a truck pulled into his path from a side road abouty a mile across the Chattooga – Walker County line.
Kelly was pronounced dead at the scene. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps and US Marine Reserve and changed unit nearly two decades ago so that he could be part of the deployment in support of Operation Desert Storm.
