Citizen Complaint Leads To Meth Lab Discovery
The complaint of an odd odor by a Coosa resident led to the discovery and seizure of a small methamphetamine lab late Friday night.
Upon receiving the citizen’s complaint a Floyd County Police Officer, accompanied by an investigator from the Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force, were dispatched to a duplex on Lee Street in Coosa. Officers discovered the components of a meth lab on the property and a search warrant was issued.
The execution of the search warrant led to the discovery of a small-scale meth lab. One arrest has been made in this ongoing investigation by the Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force.
A DEA-certified Haz Mat team was dispatched to the meth lab and has completed clean-up of the site.
