Sheriff’s Deputies Find Meth Lab While Serving Warrant

Floyd Country Sheriff’s deputies discovered an operational meth lab Wednesday evening while attempting to serve an arrest warrant on Pullen Road in Southern Floyd County near the Polk County line.
In a rural part of the county where you are more likely to find a goat than a meth lab, Sgt Jeff Chandler with the Floyd County Sheriff’s office said the smell of the lab was noticeable almost immediately.
Deputies found the operational lab in a small building behind the manufactured home nestled in a wooded area hidden from view of the road.

According to officers with the Rome/Floyd metro task force, this is the 11th meth lab that has been discovered in Floyd County this year. That is up from 4 that were found all of last year.
A hazardous materials crew was called in to dispose of the materials.
As of late Wednesday night, no arrests have been made but officers do know the identity of the individuals that live at the residence.
