Coroner Says No Positive ID Yet On Body Found In Coosa

Floyd County coroner Barry Henderson said Thursday afternoon that the body found in Coosa on Wednesday morning was unable to be positively identified and additional tests will have to be preformed.

As reported first on RomeNewswire Wednesday, The grisly discovery was made by a man who Floyd County police say had lost a dog and was walking through the woods searching for it.

At that time, sources said that items found at the scene lead them to believe that the body is that of James “Booney” Wade who had been missing since Christmas of last year.

Wade was last seen on Christmas night last year, reportedly depressed about not being able to find a ride to Alabama to see his 11 year old daughter.

Henderson said officials are trying to gather dental records and DNA evidence to try and get a positive ID on the body.

At this point, officials do not suspect foul play.
