Supreme Court Upholds Murder Conviction

A unanimous Ga Supreme Court ruling upheld the murder conviction of Patrick Phillip Stahl who was found guilty of the malice murder of used car dealer Rodney Dixon more than six years ago in Gordon County.

Stahl alleged that there was no basis for the jury finding him guilty of malice murder, that he simply intended to rob Dixon to help get money for his sister’s divorce and child custody case.

Dixon confronted Stahl after Stahl broke into the victim’s home and Dixon was shot in the face

The Court wrote in it’s decision “evidence showed that Stahl went to Dixon’s home with a deadly weapon, intending to rob him, and that after the shooting, he continued with his plan to steal Dixon’s money, and later attempted to destroy evidence of his crimes.
