Symphony Set For First Concert Of 2008-2009 Season
The Rome Symphony’s new conductor, Dr. Richard Prior, will conduct the first concert of the 2008-2009 season on Saturday, October 4, 2008.
Featured soloist will be Rebecca Collins on Oboe. Dr. Prior will present “Pre-concert Conversations” in the Sam King Room at 6:45 pm. Come meet Richard and hear about Mozart’s “Overture to the Marriage of Figaro”, Vivaldi’s “Oboe Concerto” and Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 5″.
Tickets for the October 4 concert are on sale at Merry Bee Gallery, The Music Room, Kroger, RACA, the Rome Visitor Center and the RSO business. Advance tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and $3 for students. Tickets may be purchased at the door on the evening of the concert for $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and $6 for students. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m., and doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
