Governor To Announce Multi Million Expansion For Local Company
Governor Sonny Perdue is in Europe this week on an economic trip with hopes of bringing in jobs and investment to the state.
The Governor has taken heat this week from critics who said this was not a time to be spending 100 thousand dollars on an economic trip while state residents are in the middle of a fuel crisis.
However, RomeNewswire has learned that the Governor will announce a multi million dollar investment in Floyd county by an existing company during his trip.
Rome Chamber of Commerce president Al Hodge confirmed to RNW that he will be traveling to Europe soon but would not confirm what the trip was for other than to work on bringing jobs to Rome and Floyd County.
Burt Brantley, press secretary for the Governor said that he is not able to comment on any potential announcement but confirmed that the Governor would be meeting with several companies with ties to the Northwest Georgia area.
According to Brantley, the Governor will be in Spain tomorrow and is scheduled to be in Italy on Wednesday and Thursday.
We will have more on this as soon as it breaks!
