Vines Case to be Heard by Bartow Judge

Former Chattooga State Court Judge Carlton Vines will be arraigned on election fraud charges Monday and Cherokee Circuit Judge Judge G. Carey Nelson of Bartow County has been chosen to hear the case after all four judges in the Lookout Mtn. Circuit were recused from the case.

Vines faces multiple charges including false Swearing, Unlawful Possession of Ballots and Conspiracy to Commit Election Fraud stemming from the 2006 election where he defeated Sam Finster for the post of State Court Judge.

The case was investigated by the GBI and state Secretary of State’s office personnel.
