City Commisison to Tackle Condemnation Issue

The Rome City Commission will get a report from city manager John Bennett Monday night regarding the potential for condemnation of perty at N. 5th Avenue and Turner McCall where the city has planned a major road improvement that is being funded by a the 20006 SPLOST package. The commission meets at 6:30 in chambers above city hall.

A couple of contracts with the DOT are also on the agenda, one for Local Assistance Road Paving projects and the other for safety and signage improvements.

The panel will also consider three rezoning issues in public hearings during Monday night’s meeting, one on Avenue a, another on E. 8th Street and the third on Hanks Street in west Rome.
