List Of Candidates For Fire Chief Narrowed From 74 to 12
A personnel review team is having a tough time narrowing the field of applicants for the vacant fire chief’s position in Rome.
The department is being directed in the interim by Deputy chief’s Gordon Henderson and Benny Bohannon.
It is not clear whether or not either applied for the job, however Rome HR Director Rita Odum did confirm that three present fire department employees put their name in the hat along with two others who were previously employed in Rome.
Odum said there were 74 initial applicants and that the field has been narrowed to a dozen at this time.
