One Ejected, One Trapped In Silver Creek Accident

A single-car crash on 101 near the Silver Creek post office blocked traffic and seriously injured two people Wednesday evening around 7:20pm.

The victims have been identified as 19 year old Steven Matthew Dean of Cedartown who was driving the Honda and its passenger, 17 year old Cassandra Edwards of Rome.

Both patients were life flighted to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga where Dean is listed in critical condition. Edwards is listed in guarded condition.

According to witnesses at the scene, the driver lost control of the vehicle and the passenger was ejected. The driver of the Honda was trapped and had to be extricated from the vehicle by the Rome Fire Department.
