Man Injured, Car Upside-Down After Wreck

A man received only minor injuries Saturday Afternoon after his car left Walker Mountain Rd. and came to rest upside-down.
The call came in around 12:45 PM that a car had run off the road between US Hwy. 27 South and the Walker Mountain Landfill. Rome Fire Engine 2 and a Floyd County Police unit were first on the scene and found the car was overturned.
The driver was able to climb from the vehicle before emergency crews arrived. Though crews immoblized the man as a precaution, the man appeared to have only a cut to the head and was transported to Floyd Medical Center.
Crews also notified Georgia Power after a pole was lightly damaged in the accident. Traffic on Walker Mountain Rd. was affected for around 20 m inutes.
