Rome Police Arrest Man for Rape, Kidnapping
26 year old Mark. T. Tate of a Weathington Rd. address was arrested this morning and charged with rape and kidnapping.
The incident is alleged to have occurred, at least part, in north Rome on Sunday.
Documents filed at the Floyd County jail allege that Tate kidnapped a 20 year old woman and held her against her will, finally forcing the girl into a sexual encounter.
Documents claim that the incident occurred at W. Callahan Street and Howell Street at the Eagle Park. Rome police say they are searching for one other suspect.
