2 Injured in Kingston Hwy. Accident
According to FCPD Officers on the scene, a white Ford Focus driven by an an elderly female was attempting to turn East onto Kingston Hwy. out of a vacant lot next to the Dollar General. The Focus was then “T-Boned” in the drivers side door by a Black Toyota Tundra traveling Eastbound. The collision was enough to deploy the airbags in the Focus.
The collision only caused moderate damage to the truck, but damaged the Focus to the point that firefighters were forced to use the Hurst Tool to remove the drivers side door, a process that took around 10 minutes. The driver of the Tundra was only shaken up and refused treatment, while the driver of the Focus received moderate injuries and was transported by Floyd EMS.
Eastbound Traffic on Hwy. 293 was blocked for around 30 minutes.
