Classic Car Cruise-In And Poker Crawl Slated For June 13
The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is gearing up to host a series of Classic Car Cruise-In events beginning Saturday, June 13.
The cruise-in will take place on Fourth Avenue, from Broad Street to Second Street, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.
Door prizes and a 50/50 drawing will take place at the event.
From July through October, additional Classic Car Cruise-In events will take place on Fourth Avenue on the second Saturday of each month.
Beginning with the July event, enough money should be raised to also provide entertainment.
Also on Saturday, June 13, the AIDS Resource Council (ARC) will sponsor a Poker Crawl from noon until 6 p.m.
The event will include seven mini-party locations in downtown Rome and at private homes in the Between the Rivers area.
Tickets are $20 for all seven parties plus the awards party at 6 p.m.
Prizes will be awarded for the best “poker” hands.

Other upcoming events announced at Friday morning’s DDA Downtown Coffee Break, which was hosted by Needleworks Embroidery on Broad Street, include:
• On Friday, June 5, The Beatless will perform from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. during the First Friday Concert. The “Just As I Am” Choir, a local special needs choir, will open for The Beatless. The concert is a free event.
• On June 11-13, Rome will host the Georgia District Exchange Club Convention.
• The NAIA National Football Championship game will take place on Dec. 19 at Barron Stadium.
