Jesus Jam Offers Family Fun
Live music, carnival-style games, food, and more drew a crowd to Willard Nixon Park in Silver Creek on Saturday for a day of family friendly fun at the first-ever Jesus Jam.
“There’s a creek to play in, stuff for the kids to do, and we don’t have to worry about them getting into something they shouldn’t. All in all it’s a good time,” said Marcus Sandford.
About and hour after the event began, about 50 people were already enjoying the shaded park and listening to music, eating or play games.
According to organizers, Jesus Jam is a community building project hosted by Lindale and Silver Creek United Methodist Churches. The only mission is to bring the community together in a family atmosphere with music and activities.
The two sponsoring churches want to provide an entertaining setting where the community can cool off in the summer heat using Silver Creek and enjoy family oriented and Christian music in a variety of styles.
The different artists that will perform are all volunteers and come from the North Georgia Area.
While food and games do have a charge, the prices are only the amount needed to offset the cost of the event. There is no charge for the event, access to the creek, parking or inflatable playground.
