RIFF To Feature More Than 80 Films
Film fans should mark their calendar for Sept. 11-12 and the Rome International Film Festival will feature 86 movies shown over two days at Heritage Hall and the DeSoto Theater.
Executive Director Harry Musselwhite says that “Gospel Hill,” a flick featuring Samuel L. Jackson, will be featured on the first night. A movie titled “Poundcake” will be the feature on Saturday night.
More than 300 movies were submitted for the festival this year.
According to the movie Web site IMDB.com, “Gospel Hill” is about a former sheriff of a southern town dealing with past sins, and a former civil rights worker, withdrawn since the martyrdom of his brother thirty years before, confront a threat to their town.
The movie also features Anglea Bassett, Danny Glover, Taylor Kitsch, Julia Stiles. It was filmed over 19 days in South Carolina.
