Two Arrested on Felony Drug Charges

Rome police made a drug bust at a downtown club Thursday night.

A Floyd County man was arrested with methadone at the Peach Palace. 29 year old Andrew Ellis Taylor of a N. Stepp Street address in Lindale had 17 of the pills wrapped in cellophane when he was arrested a little before 11:00 Thursday night.

Methadone is a drug that is frequently used in the treatment of people recovering from heroin addictions.

A road check on the Cave Spring Rd. at Park Rd. Thursday netted a Rome man with more than four ounces of marijuana, well in excess of the amount needed to constitute a felony arrest.

24 year old Joey Jamal Alexander of a Pinecrest Dr. address was driving a vehicle that wreaked of marijuana when it was stopped.

Officers asked for permission to search the vehicle and found the pot sufficient enough to charge Alexander with possession with the intent to distribute.
