Beloved Assistant Principal Passes Away

Jill Harris, the namesake behind the Pray for Jill stickers you have most likely seen around town, has passed away Sunday morning according to her Facebook support group page.

According to the page, “Jill Harris passed away, peacefully, this morning at 4:30 a.m., at Heartland Hospice in Cartersville, Ga. Sunday, July 5, 2009. Her family was by her side.”

Harris was the assistant principal at Johnson Elementary school. She was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer earlier this year.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete but will be announced later by the Owens Funeral Home in Cartersville.
