By RomeNewswire • on November 9, 2009

The Cave Spring City Council is expected on Tuesday evening to award the bid for the city’s Water Project Contract.

Cave Spring City Councilman Kenneth Kelley said the project involves an overhaul of the water system to bring the system up to acceptable standards.

He said the project includes the implementation of two new water tanks and the enlargement and replacement of close to 18 miles of water lines.

The project, he added, is estimated to cost close to $7.2 million.

Also during Tuesday’s city council meeting, the Cave Spring City Council is expected to:

  • Discuss a Department of Transportation LARP (local assistance road program) contract.
  • Review business license fees.
  • Announce recent election results.
  • Vote on the fate of an amendment of an ordinance to regulate boarding houses.
  • Discuss replacement of a furnace that no longer functions properly at one end of City Hall.

The Cave Spring City Council meets Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 6 p.m. at Cave Spring City Hall.
