Georgia Power has brought a second scrubber on line at Plant Bowen near Cartersville.
The scrubber is able to reduce sulfur dioxide emissions by as much as 95 percent. Sulfur dioxide contributes to respiratory illness, particularly in children and the elderly, and aggravates existing heart and lung diseases.

There have been power outages reported in Lindale.
We are getting information from Pepperell schools that power is out at the schools as well.
According to Georgia Power Officials, a breaker shorted causing the outage.
Nearly 1500 people were initially affected.
