Dispatchers at 911 had to dispatch all fire services via portable radios Thursday morning after an unspecified problem caused their radio to stop working.
According to sources, 911 dispatchers were able to hear the radio traffic but were unable to transmit.

Continuous problems at Rome/Floyd 911 with their new state of the art computer aided dispatch system have caused officials to shut the system down and go to call taking manually with paper logs.
